Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper

Location: Tilbury, ON

Reports To: CEO
Employment Type: Full Time

The Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of our clients. This role ensures accuracy in all financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting to our clients. The Senior Bookkeeper will oversee junior bookkeeping or accounting staff and be responsible for training and support 

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and credit card statements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Oversee payroll  processing, benefits administration, and related journal entries.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax legislation
• Train and supervise junior bookkeeping or accounting staff as needed.

• Diploma or degree in  Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred but not required).
• 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks Online.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information responsibly 

• Experience with multi-entity bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices (e.g., construction, nonprofit, retail).
• QuickBooks Online Advanced Certifications
